Extra helpings of spice
What a success! We’re delighted to have welcomed a full house on Friday evening for Vanita Mcglynn’s first ever pop up Indian kitchen. Her food went down a storm, and it was fascinating to see how she has adapted traditional Indian recipes into truly low fat versions without compromising on taste. Beautifully presented starters included home-made pea samosas and melt in the mouth chicken tikka pieces, while main course options were chicken korma, vegetable curry, chicken jalfrezi and a properly punchy chilli chicken, served with sides such as Bombay potatoes and south Indian carrot and cabbage curry. We also loved Vanita’s home-made chapattis and light as air basmati rice, and the sweet, sticky gulab jamun she served for desert. Needless to say, we’ve had lots of requests to hold another pop up Indian kitchen soon, so we’re pleased to say we’ll be welcoming Vanita back on June 9. Be sure to book early!
